The bridge between your NR+ network and the cloud

The NR+Gate is the FTsink gateway that connects your fleet of DECT NR+ sensors to cloud platforms, over the backhaul of your choice: Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LTE. PoE-powered (a single RJ45 cable for power and network) and built for the outdoors (IP44), it installs right where your sensors are — pole, façade or equipment room.

Under the hood: an embedded Linux system on a quad-core Rockchip RK3566 module, hardened and optimised for industrial and IoT workloads. Configure it from a browser through the built-in web interface, integrate it with your systems through the open REST API, and keep the fleet current with secure OTA updates. The GNSS receiver provides positioning and network time synchronisation.

  • Full integrated NR+ stack: end-to-end management of the DECT NR+ network
  • Reliable connection to the major cloud platforms
  • Triple backhaul: 10/100 Ethernet, Wi-Fi ac, LTE (Fibocom MA510, onboard antenna)
  • u-blox MAX-M10S GNSS for positioning and timing

Typical applications: smart cities (lighting, parking, environmental sensor networks), backhaul for industrial sensor fleets, wide-area agricultural and environmental monitoring, and multi-site deployments with heterogeneous uplinks.

Development kit, not a finished product: the NR+Gate is designed for lab evaluation, prototyping and development by technical teams — not for placing on the market or commercial deployment as-is. It is therefore not CE/RED certified. If you integrate this module into a final product intended for sale, certifying the resulting product remains your responsibility — and that's exactly the kind of support our design office provides.

Frequently asked questions

Is this product CE/RED certified?

Not yet. The NR+Gate is a development kit meant for lab evaluation and prototyping, not a finished product sold as-is. If you integrate it into a final product intended for sale, RED/CE certification of that product remains the integrator's responsibility — our design office can support exactly that kind of work.

Do I need a subscription or cloud service to use it?

No mandatory subscription. Codium will offer its own cloud platform, but the BSP lets you point the gateway at a server of your choice — self-hosted or third-party — in line with the open, Opener-Initiative-ready approach of the NR+ stack.

How are firmware updates handled?

OTA updates are supported. The exact policy (fully automatic, cloud-operator-driven, or manually triggered) depends on your deployment — a debug gateway, a production gateway, and different network contexts call for different update strategies. We'll detail the options as the platform matures.

What's the real range between a node and the gateway?

It depends on the antennas at both ends and the environment. With the antenna we selected paired with an NR+Node, expect roughly 200 m in a built-up urban environment (varies with surroundings), and potentially up to 2 km in open field at the lowest data rate — indicative figures, not yet a formal field-validated spec.

Does the external antenna need to be a specific model?

Our RF engineer selected a specific antenna for the reference design, but any antenna covering the 1.9 GHz DECT band should give comparable results on the SMA connector.
